Why Support the 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron

All Air Cadet Squadrons are funded by DND (Department of National Defense), however, these funds do not cover the full breadth of programming offered. We deliver a safe environment for youth to gather and learn valuable life skills, along with opportunities to make lifelong friends and memories.

For the first time, our squadron is committed to delivering a free program for 2021-22.

To support this objective, we need community input, both in volunteers and funding. We are planning some great fundraising opportunities this year, which you can find outlined below.

Tagging - Due to Covid, not in 2022

Held twice each year, tagging is a major source of funding for the squadron.

We do tagging in Erin, Hillsburgh, and Caledon.

Thank you to our community location for their continued support:

Hillsburgh: Foodland

Erin: Marc's Valu-mart; Tim Hortons; Subway, Tin Roof Cafe, Country Crops

Brisbane: Judy's Restaurant

Caledon: Petro Canada / McDonalds

Legion Poppy Campaign

442 Royal Canadian Legion is the official squadron sponsor for 242 Ross Ferguson RCACS. RCL Branch 442 donates a portion of their Poppy Campaign to the 242 Ross Ferguson Air Cadets.

On Tuesday March 1, 2022, Poppy Fund Coordinator, Verna Bludd of the Erin Legion 442 presented the Erin Air Cadets with a cheque from last year’s Poppy Campaign. This annual donation helps offset Cadet Program expenses. The cadets will benefit from this generous donation as it will help fund field trips, multi-unit sports competition weekends, shooting and biathlon teams, and their Annual Review in June. In 2022 the unit received $4,931.26 through the Legion's 2021 Poppy Fund.
